Android- Microsoft Authenticator Installation and Configuration
Prerequisite-
You must first have your Android device in compliance via the Company Portal App. If you have not completed this, follow our guide to get started.
Installing the App-
1. From your app drawer, tap select the work profile tab. Tap the work profile Play Store. This will look like the regular Play Store app, but with a briefcase icon (in either blue or orange depending on your phones model). Now search for "Microsoft Authenticator" and install it.

2. Wait for the download to complete and tap "Open".

3. Once open, tap on "I agree". We'll come back to this app later on in the process.

Configuration-
1. From your Apex provided computer, go to office.com and click the orange "Sign In" button.
2. If you are already signed in, it will take you to the Microsoft 365 home page and you can skip to step 4. If not, it will take you to this screen-

a. Enter your full Apex email and click next.
3. You will be prompted to enter your Apex email/Microsoft 365 password-

a. Enter your password and click "Sign In"
4. On the Microsoft 365 home page it takes you to, click on your picture/initials in the top right-

5. Click on "View Account"

6. Click on "Update Info" in the Security Info section

7. You may be prompted to get a code texted to you. If not, proceed to step 8.

8. Click "Add Method"

9. Select "Authenticator app" and click "Add"

10. You've likely already installed the Microsoft Authenticator app at this point, but if not, you will be presented with the steps to do so. If you've already installed it, click on "Next" to skip through the steps.

11. Once you get to this screen, open your Authenticator app to add an account-

12. Now back to the Authenticator app. Tap "Add work or school account".

13. Your email should already appear– tap on it.

14. You may be asked to verify your account's identity (like above). Please do so, if required.
15. After successfully adding your account, you should see this page. Tap "Finish".

16. If this popup appears, simply tap "OK" to close.

17. Tap on Authenticator at the bottom if it's not already open. On the top right hand corner, tap the 3 dots drop down, and tap the "+ Add Account" option.

18. Tap "Work or school account".

19. Tap "Scan a QR code".

20. Tap "ALLOW" when asked if Authenticator can take pictures and record video. This is to allow Authenticator to scan the QR code.

21. Hold your phone up to your screen– until the QR code is inside the brackets/frame

22. The web page will then send a test notification to your phone via the Authenticator app.

23. You should see a pop-up in your app or on your Lock Screen (depending if you already closed the app/ your phone locked). Tap "Approve".

24. Your computer should now show "Notification approved" and allow you to click "Next"

25.This will take you back to the "My Sing-Ins" page and show your Default sign-in method, Microsoft Authenticator.
